According to different production processes, seamless steel pipes can be mainly divided into hot-rolled seamless steel pipes and cold-drawn (cold-rolled) seamless steel pipes. The two types of pipes have obvious differences in production principle, performance and application scenarios, and customers can choose according to their actual needs.
Hot-rolled seamless steel pipes are produced by heating the steel billet to a high temperature (usually above 1200℃) and then piercing and rolling. They have the characteristics of high production efficiency, low cost and good toughness, and are suitable for large-diameter, thick-walled seamless steel pipes. They are widely used in construction, machinery manufacturing, water supply and drainage and other fields that do not require extremely high dimensional accuracy.
Cold-drawn (cold-rolled) seamless steel pipes are produced by drawing or rolling the hot-rolled seamless steel pipe blanks at room temperature. The products have high dimensional accuracy, smooth surface, uniform wall thickness and high strength. They are suitable for small-diameter, thin-walled seamless steel pipes and are widely used in precision machinery, automotive parts, medical equipment and other fields that require high precision.
